Explore Healthcare in London and Dublin, United Kingdom



The Program

Experience the culture, lifestyle, history, accessibility, and health services within the UK and Ireland while visiting two beautiful cities and learn about their similarities and differences in the delivery of healthcare and accessibility for people with disabilities. This program is a study abroad opportunity traveling within the UK and Ireland. The course will expose students and faculty from multiple disciplines in the College of Health and Human Services to a powerful, once-in-a-lifetime international immersion experience that provides the participants an invaluable perspective on different regions within the UK and Ireland. Historical and cultural sites will be visited, as well as experiences related to the culture and health of citizens living in these regions.

Early registration is strongly encouraged. Proof of a valid passport is required prior to the trip. Any disability requiring special attention must be reported in advance to an instructor.

Program Fee

The fee of $5,907 includes:

  • Fresno State tuition, 3 units of credit
  • All instruction
  • Round-trip airfare from Los Angeles to London
  • Airfare from London to Dublin
  • 13 days shared lodging, breakfast daily
  • Welcome and Farewell dinners, 4 lunches
  • Travel cards for London and Dublin
  • Travel/health insurance
  • Wireless internet access in hotels
  • Sight-seeing tours of London and Dublin

  • Professional Tour guides
  • 8 healthcare visits
  • Gratuities for meals, guides, and drivers

Transportation from Fresno to Los Angeles, passport, most lunches and dinners.

Registration & Fee Payment

All participants in this program must register for credit, including non-matriculated individuals.

Course fee is $5,907.

  • Feb. 2, 2018. First online payment of $400 due to WorldStrides
  • Feb. 9, 2018. Payment of $580 tuition to Fresno State
  • Feb. 9, 2018  Second online payment of $2,464 due to World Strides
  • April 6, 2018. Third online payment of $2,463 due to WorldStrides

You will need to register both with WorldStrides online (see below) and with Fresno State (use registration form in this brochure) for your registration to be complete.  To register with WorldStrides, go to this website:

  • You will be prompted to enter the Fresno State Trip ID: 155010
  • Once you enter the Trip ID and requested security characters, click on the “Register Now” box on the lower portion of the page and you will be taken directly to the site.
  • Review the summary page and click “Register” in the top right corner to enter your information.
  • Note: You are required to accept WorldStrides Capstone programs terms and conditions and click “check-out” before your registration is complete.

It is important to understand that you are undertaking a serious contractual obligation when you register for your travel study program. Starting on February 9, 2018, you are responsible for all your travel study program fees of $5,907. Your financial obligation will be posted to your Fresno State account even if you withdraw from the program.

Make tuition check payable to “Fresno State.”  Note: all fees are subject to change.

International Travel Grants & Scholarships

Travel Grants of $1,000 are available for qualified Fresno State students.  Contact an instructor for more information about the travel grants and other scholarships.

CGE Tuition Refund Schedule

You may withdraw from the program and will be eligible a full refund of your CGE paid tuition if you withdraw before February 9, 2018. Beginning February 9, 2018, no refunds will be made. If you withdraw from the program on or after February 9, 2018, the university will place a hold on your student account and require you to pay the full amount of fees for the travel study program. Further, you will be unable to register in future Fresno State classes until this financial obligation is paid in full.  


Participants in this program must have a valid passport. Those needing a U.S. Passport can apply in the Continuing and Global Education office, located in Kremen Education Building, Room 130.
